Banned GP San Antonio Playmat

I figured I'd post a picture of this thing, for those who haven't seen the playmat yet. I received this in a trade with Kersch (Deaf To Our Prayers on these boards), who judged at the event. From what I've pieced together, 35 of these were released to judges and a few more were given to the artist as payment for his troubles. Supposedly it was banned because it didn't get WotC's approval in time.

I'm not sure 'banned' is the word, unless you're just trying to drum up hype. 'Held back' or 'restricted' might be more accurate.

I bargained a sales table at GP Indi to sell me the Turkey playmat in question for $40 in trade credits.
Then I had RK Post, the father of the playmat's artist (I think the kid / artist's name is Garrett), doodle some stuffing and cranberry sauce fighting back against the turkeys.
Well, most of that is true...

I have the artist's contact info, but I haven't emailed him yet to ask what the real story is behind these mats.
